RED SIMPLE SHIRT IN HANDLOOMED COTTON

Our simple shirt. The collars are understated and soft, entirely hand-constructed, as the whole shirt is, by a tailor in their own workshop. The hem of the shirt is straight and the buttons are always made of natural shell. The fabric is pure cotton, woven on a hand operated loom that used no electricity. The fit is easy and comfortable. The sort of shirt you can have on and go about your business not remembering, while everyone around you thinks what a nice shirt you have on. Meant to be worn un-tucked, but of course you can have it made at the length you desire. A pattern will be cut and the shirt made for you once you order and submit your measurements.

• FABRIC

  100% Hand-loomed Cotton. Woven in the outskirts of Lahore in Punjab, by the weavers who were handed down the craft of weaving over the millennia by people who wove some of the first fabrics in human history. The fabric is primarily red with threads in blue, yellow, red and orange running through randomly.

• CONSTRUCTION

  The shirt was crafted entirely by hand, essentially as it was a hundred years ago, using nothing more than a sewing machine, some thread and a needle. The stitching is durable and the shirt is made to last.

  – The seams are flat-felled, meaning once sewn, turned over and sewn again to make them stronger.
  – The sides are strengthened by hand-sewn gussets.
  – The shirt has a split yoke in the back.
  – The collars and cuffs are softly constructed by hand and are unfused.
  – Misaligned sleeve and side seams for ease of movement.
  – The buttons are natural shell and sewn by hand on to each shirt.

• MILL

  This fabric was spun into yarn by a family of weavers and woven into this fabric on a hand-operated loom that uses no electricity. This family of weavers has been practicing its craft for generations. All around, a very good fabric for your well-being and for that of all involved. Dyed and woven in Punjab near Lahore.

• CARE

  To ensure a long life of the shirt, it’s best to dry clean it. You can also hand wash in a soft soap and lay it flat to dry. Please do not machine-wash.

• SHIPPING

  All shipping is free. We use USPS as our main courier. We strive to deliver your order in roughly two weeks. Please bear in mind that ordering made-to-measure, hand-made clothing from a family-owned workshop is not the same as ordering a mass-produced item for quick delivery from a fulfillment facility.
  We carefully fold our clothing down to create small packages that help reduce our carbon footprint. Our packaging does not use any plastic. This helps reduce waste and keep our prices low. All the paper we use for wrapping and shipping can be recycled.
  To help us reduce waste and environmental harm without reducing your enjoyment of your purchase, please be sure to iron or steam each piece back into shape when you receive it in the mail.

• LIFETIME REPAIRS

  Whenever your article of clothing needs some repair, mail it to us. We’ll mend it and send it back to you at no cost.

• CIRCULAR LIFE

  As all our clothes are made of natural fibers, whenever you feel your article of clothing has lived its useful life, send it back to us. Almost all parts of it can be upcycled.
