Category:

A simple, entirely hand-sewn, formal shirt in a very fine, 120s 2-ply, Egyptian, cotton poplin with a classic English collar. It is a classic light blue fabric. The shirt has a button placket, no breast pocket and shirred cuffs. All our dress shirts have hand stitched shoulder, side and sleeve seams. Our formal shirts have a classic tailored silhouette, they are not fitted nor too roomy, the sort of shirts that you can have on and go about unencumbered. This shirt, with time, becomes an extension of you. Meant to be worn tucked in, however, you can choose the length you want. A pattern will be cut and the shirt made for you once you order and submit your measurements.

  • FABRIC

100% long-stapled Egyptian Giza cotton, loomed in Türkiye. A very fine, 120s 2-ply ply is smooth and truly luxurious to wear. The fabric is plain white. An understated, classic design.

  • CONSTRUCTION

The shirt was crafted entirely by hand, essentially as it was a hundred years ago, using nothing more than a sewing machine, some thread and a needle. Stitching is durable and the shirt is made to last.

    – The seams are flat-felled, meaning once sewn, turned over and sewn again to make them stronger.

    – The shoulder, side and sleeve seams are all hand stitched using thread and needle.
    – The sides are strengthened by hand-sewn gussets.
    – The shirt has a split yoke in the back.
    – The collars and cuffs are softly constructed by hand and are unfused.
    – The back of the collar has a heavier fabric inserted to keep it straight.
    – Misaligned sleeve and side seams for an ease in movement.
    – The buttons are mother-of-pearl and sewn by hand on to each shirt.

  • CARE

For a long life of the shirt, it’s best to hand wash and lay it flat to dry. Can also be machine-washed or dry cleaned.

Purchased this shirt for my wedding. The fabric is thick and luxurious. The buttons are large and sturdy. The fit is wonderful as well.
